A few ups and downs....

So over the past couple weeks we have hit a few bumps in the road...actually, one bump really. My grandma, aka Goggy, has been very ill. It started a few weeks ago and since then we have prepared ourselves to say goodbye a few times, but she bounced back...as she always has in the past. Sadly, this past Friday we called in hospice. Despite her sad circumstances, she is truly inspirational to be around. She is full of faith and love and is only concerned with how everyone around her is doing. Her amazing outlook has taught us all important lessons about life.
While this is a very sad time for everyone it reminds me of some very important things we have to be be thankful for:
1. All the wonderful years we have gotten to spend with her
2. That she got to meet Sam
3. The precious days we have spent together these last couple weeks, and all the wonderful stories we have gotten to hear for the first time.
4. What an inspiration she has been to us....she and my grandpa touched so many peoples lives that her room is literally a revolving door of visitors. Her family extends far beyond my mom, brother and myself.
5. My husband, who unknowingly has made such a difference in not only my life, but Goggy's too. Just a couple years ago he helped her get up the courage to transition to a nursing home which she grew to love more than any of us could have ever hoped or imagined. He continues to be more supportive than I could have ever asked for and always knows just the right thing to say. My grandparents were married for over 50 years before my grandpa passed away almost 15 years ago. He remains on our minds always but my grandma's love for him has not faded a bit, in fact it's stronger than ever. There are no words to describe how amazing it is to be sitting next to my husband whom I love so dearly and sharing stories with my grandma about her marriage. I hope that our marriage and love for each other will always be as strong as theirs. (Sorry for being so cheesy babe)
6. For this past weekend. It was the first time in quite some time that we spent so much together as a whole family and that my brother was able to share the weekend with us.
7. That we will celebrating the long awaited coming of another nephew in April.
8. For every remaining day we have with Goggy....
9. For being reminded that we should appreciate every day
Now, I'll end with a few pictures
