Luke has an issue with heavy grunting and snoring especially at night...which is consistent with an allergic reaction. He is a bit fussy, but nothing horrible. I chalked it up being a baby until someone suggested I try a bottle of Similac anti-colic formula. I'm not big into formula but I gave it a go last night and he was like a new baby.
So, a couple chats with girlfriends who also have had this problem with their babies and off to the pediatrician we went. We are waiting for the results of a test. I'm hoping it's something we can control by eliminating milk from my diet. I would hate to have to completely formula feed Luke 1. because I'm lazy 2. the formula is uber expensive 3. I think nursing is a form of bonding with babies and I know how good mama's milk is for babies...
so keep your fingers crossed for us!
side note- he now weighs 9lbs 14oz.... a 1lb 13oz gain in one week! Way to go Luke!!!
I avoided dairy for a year when felicity was an infant. It worked great. She is our child who is most sensitive to food in general. Nursing can help for the long term if he is going to have food allergies. He may outgrow them (often the case). Dairy is a common offender, but there are other foods that could affect him. Good luck!!!!
