We're Alive!!!!!!

Hello!
We are alive and our computer is up and running!

We have been here a little over a week, and are finally on Hong Kong time.
We have had quite a few hiccups...ear infections, eye infections, things not working but we are adjusting slowly.

One of our neighbors described HK as the place where nothing makes sense....
There's not a one stop shop for anything such as a target, and its not an overly stroller friendly place (See video below), and the drivers here make me look like Ms. Daisey.
BUT, I have yet to meet anyone here to hates it so I'm sure once we get used to the new norm we will laugh at how odd everything seemed at first.

Here is what we have been up to.....

Sam started Preschool today.
This was his attitude when I told him it was time to go.....

Here we are walking to class.....

Drop-Off!!!
(One of us cried like a baby. It wasn't the one wearing cowboy boot

AND.......
Someone had a birthday!!!!

Our little boy!!!!
Luke is officially walking (See video below)
For his birthday we went to Pizza Hut on the beach and he fell asleep at 6:45

So, in loose chronological order here is how our first week went....
The first morning we arrived we were up around 2am with the time change.

Not much was going on at that time so as soon as the sun came up we headed to the beach....

The next day we took the kids to an area called Stanley.
Stanley is kind of like a Harbor Town in Hilton Head only more Asian and much weirder.
They have good outdoor markets, a boardwalk, a kids area, shopping and STARBUCKS!!!!!!!

While walking the boardwalk we found this shrine.
There was nothing to tell us what it was but based on close review Sam figured out that it was "Baby Jesus' Barn".
So that answers that.

The four of us on the Stanley Pier.

Back at the Barn.

This picture is our of order, but here is Phil watching the IU victory over Ohio State at the Repulse Bay courtyard.
(This is also where the grocery, coffee shop, and Sam's preschool are. It's about a 3 minute walk from our apartment)

We made our way down to the beach on again for a little fun in the sun....
At first Sam was scared to death of the water but after a few minutes he was jumping in the water.
By the end of it he was in a diaper only and 4 random Asian ladies were taking his picture.
Note to self: Check into modeling for Sam.

A pic of us on the beach at our hotel.
The Repulse Bay Beach.

Random....
This I found completely odd.
Blackbeard, Houdini & Jesus action figures.

These scooters are ALL over the place here.
So, clearly, we had to get Sam one....Plus he's cute and he asked for one.
Here he is at the playground testing it out.

Luke is adjusting just fine, and thinks the snacks here are just as good as any he's tasted anywhere else in the world.

Sam still acts like a 2 year old.

Wednesday, half of our air shipment arrived. The other half is missing. But the toys made it just fine.....
As far as the rest of it....
I'm sure I will be repurchasing it from an open air market in a couple weeks.

Here is a video of Luke walking.
This happened on Phil's watch so he is taking 100% credit for teaching Luke to walk.

Here is how we get to the beach.
Warning- this is a LONG video.

All in all, we miss our family & friends.......
but we are really excited to be starting this adventure together.
