Last Sunday Grandma Came to Hong Kong....
Luke thought he'd celebrate with a little ice cream.
Thursday we decided to take an adventure to Beijing to see what it had to offer.....
What it had to offer for Sam was a nice view from the master bathroom, which he enjoyed pre, during and post using the big boy potty.
Friday we took a trip to the Great Wall and helped the merchants by buying a hat......
Sam and Luke got to sit on a camel...
Thankfully, Sam didn't ask if we could bring it home with us.
"Anybody seen the Great Wall? We can't find it?"
"Oh, there it is!"
I think I can speak for everyone when I say it was much more spectacular than we ever imagined.
Luke insisted on walking most of the time.
And Sam, of course, wanted to be carried.
Then Luke literally hit the wall.
With his head.
Leaving this mark.
We knew it was time to go home....
"Do I have to walk back ALL that way?!?!?!"
The final descent.
On the way back we went to the Summer Palace.
It was beautiful but I only put a few pics on here for fear of having too many pics on this post.
The Summer Palace is where the Emperors and Empresses spent their summers.
It was beautiful.
After all that sight seeing we went back to the hotel to relax.
Saturday morning we went to Tienanmen Square.
My little communist.
Can you identify the real soldier?
It's wonderful to be able to give my kids these experiences, even if they won't remember them....
After that we walked to the Forbidden City.

????
Couldn't tell ya, because Luke had an EPIC meltdown that lasted almost an hour, cutting our day short.
Now, we are back in Hong Kong, resting up for the busy week ahead.
Looks like an amazing trip to China! Great pictures!

That picture of Luke does no justice to his meltdown.
