Patron Saint?

I am certain I am the worst parent I have ever met. Ever.
All my mom friends are more creative with activities, adventurous, can manage to shower, keep a clean house, have dinner on the table, and raise obedient well behaved children.

Case and point- I have successfully coddled my 20 month old into an inability to sleep.

(I should have stopped and listened to my husbands warnings at 2 am when I was running into Sam's room at the first peep I heard....
Not to mention Phil hasn't seen a clean house or a hot meal in...well, a while.)

From about a year to a year a half he was doing great. Going down for naps and bedtime easily and sleeping through the night. Then Luke arrived and Daddy started traveling and regression came a knocking.

Now, at 20 months he won't go down for a nap without a fight, won't go to bed at night without a fight and is no where close to sleeping though the night.....

And just today he figured out how to climb out of his crib.
Awesome.

So in the sleep battle of Sam versus Mom....
Sam: 1
Mom: -20 months

If there is a patron saint of sleep I need him now!!!!

Don't let him fool you...

Hopefully I will improve the second time around.....
but I'm not holding my breath

I will say, I think they are above averagely cute...

but I can only take partial credit for that and I'm sure it won't last long. If Sam continues to do face plants out of his crib onto the floor he's going to look like Rocky.

  1. try st. dymphna and st. elijah!!! we looked them up for you. you are doing great!!!! don't let those supposed 'together' moms fool you. sam will sleep one of these days, i promise. my kids have all been terrible sleepers (i'm sure i have contributed, but i have an allergy to hearing my kids cry), but have all learned to sleep through the night in time. hang in there, and don't beat yourself up!! showers and meals are over-rated.
