Thanksgiving 2011

We kicked off Thanksgiving 2011 in our house Thursday night with Grandma, Grandpa, Great Aunt Katie & Uncle Jason.

Luke wasn't a fan of the fare.

And Sam would only Carrot Cake.

But the company was good!

Friday morning we headed to Decatur.
My boys playing under the Christmas Tree.

Sam & James playing the piano.

The kids table.

Luke opted for a healthier meal.
I guess all those comments about his chunky cheeks went to his head.

Felicity & Julia

After the lunchtime feast, we all relaxed for some guilty pleasures.....

Emily & Eustace reading People Magazine. Sexiest Man Alive edition.

I'm not sure what was going on here, but I don't think it was good.....

Same goes for this picture.

Who broke the train!?!?!"

Saturday Morning we did the Geneva Turkey Trott.
Sam & Phil were the cheering section for Grandma, Emily & I.

Grandma, in her true multi-tasking glory crosses the finish line while carrying Luke & talking on the phone!

And Sunday before we headed back to Cincinnati, we went to church.
And by church I mean, Pada attended mass while Grandma, Phil & I played with the boys in the lobby because they weren't into the service and I was too leery of germs to put them into daycare.
In my defense, they have had both had Croup & Hand-Foot-Mouth in the past 60 days.

As our move approached we are extra appreciative of the time we get to spend with our family.

Catching Up

Last Saturday when I set out to do a practice round of Christmas cookies my kitchen looked like this.

About an hour later.....

And because these were "practice" and because it isn't even Thanksgiving we made them heart shaped and I let Sam pick the color he wanted to dye the icing...

Tuesday we went to Union Terminal for the Train exhibit & the Children's Museum.
Even though we have a train table in our basement, this one was a big hit....

"I just can't reach the trains!!!"

Sam's took the "Finders Keepers" approach to playing with the trains.

And the "Get away" approach to me with the camera....

Phil & Sam taking it all in.

Friday night we had good friends over and made come cupcakes disappear.
Sam stayed up till 10:30 playing with Lizzie & Pierce.
Slumber parties here we come!!!!

Saturday Grandma gave Luke his first real haircut, which also happens to be his first bad haircut.
Meet Lloyd Christmas.....

He's still pretty cute though.

Airplanes

Last night we went to Lunken Airport to check out the planes

In honor of our adventure, Luke styled his hair like he had been flying with his head out the window of an airplane.

Nothing like hanging with grandpa, two horses and a goat.

Naughty or Nice?

You be the judge...

Naughty or Nice?

Naughty or Nice?

Naughty or Nice?

Naughty or Nice?
Clearly, someone woke up on the wrong side of the toddler bed yesterday.

And in Honor of Lainey,
who we used to be obsessed with
but who now gets no attention
And who will only be our dog for 19 more days....

Halloween & Vacation

This year Halloween was on a Monday. So when Daddy got home from work...off we went!

Sam had no problem accepting candy....

As you can see our neighborhood takes Halloween VERY seriously.

So it's a good thing our cowboys were up for the occasion.

Immediately after Trick or Treating we headed off to Gatlinburg for a little Thompson Family Vacation.
Victor (peace advocate), Lucy, Phil & Luke

Lucy & Luke

Wednesday we went on a family Helicopter ride!!!
(I'm not sure a $10 Helicopter ride was the safest of activities)

Then we went horse back riding......

ahh...happiness.

More horsing around......

We celebrated Aunt Emily's Thirty-something at the Olive Garden....
James & Luke

The Birthday girl and her Daddy

Group Pic...Grandpa got cut out of the right side :(

One Water park picture.....
Taken immediately before a huge bucket of water dumped on my head and onto our camera.

whoops.

Thanks everyone for a wonderful vacation.
We miss you already.
