Route 66

This year Sam went Trick or Treating (Phil & I carried him door to door because he was too shy to get down) as Route 66.
He won't wear ANYTHING on his face or head and he is obsessed with matchbox cars so....he went as Route 66.....
It was Sam & Phil's first time trick or treating...yes, it's true my husband had NEVER been trick-or-treating...

Grandpa

As we walked from house to house we realized that most of the neighbors had picked up special things JUST for Sam.....
He got cheese crackers (a favorite snack), a Halloween sippy cup, a pumpkin toy and a monster truck.
We either have awesome neighbors or a spoiled kid.....or both!?!?!?

Pooped

Grandpa came over to play this morning, which is always an extra dose of fun....
We were trying to keep Sam up until his usual 1:00 nap time.
This is what he thought about that.......

"If you won't take me upstairs, I'll just nap here.
A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"

Last Year at the Pumpkin Patch....

This year at the Pumpkin Patch....

"Whats wrong with this pumpkin Mom?"

"Which pumpkin should we get???"

"On second thought....I'll take this car instead...."

"Wooo!!!!"

"Again! ...duh!!!!"

Looks like both my boys have had enough.....

Pictures, Pregnancy Update & A Quote....

"The top to this solar light kinda looks like a pacifier........"

Ahh, fall.....

Dad asks, "What goes on all day while I'm at work?"
Mom answers, "Here ya go.....If you don't wanna know....don't ask"
(And yes, I put a hair tie around his shirt to make it more form fitting. WHAT!?!?)

Today marks the day in my last pregnancy when I was in the hospital in premature labor with Sam. Needless to say, I've been a bit nervous, stressed and frankly scared to death but so far so good and I'm officially one day further than I made it in my last pregnancy before I had to go into the hospital for a week and be on bed rest for three months. So from now on, everyday at home is a bonus.

As I sat down to rest tonight I heard a quote I thought was just prefect:
If someone prays for patience, do you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If someone prays for courage, do you think God gives them courage or does he give them the opportunity to be courageous?

Feeling better already.

Bag of Tricks

Here are a few of the noises Sam can now make on command....

There are a few I haven't captured yet like "Quack" and "Bad Dog!" when referring to Lainey but I figured these ones aren't a bad start, esp. since his attention span seems to be shorter than his vocab!

Taking Care of Business

Someone has to take responsibility for watering the trees around here......

As far as I'm concerned....

Phil & I have 3 Anniversaries......
1. The Anniversary of when we started dating
2. The Anniversary of when we got engaged
3. Our wedding Anniversary
Only one of us celebrates the first two. (I won't name names.)
As the four year anniversary of when we first started dating (October 15th) approaches I'm reflecting back on how things have changed.

Phil and I 4 years ago on one of our first dates to the OSU/ IU football game.
Final Score. 44 -3
He wasn't yet aware that I barely even knew how to keep score in football.

Phil and I almost 4 years later. Same seats, same game, 1.5 baby boys, countless IU losses and a few lbs later....
Final Score 38-10. Progress is progress.
I now know how to keep score but don't even come close to understanding all the rules....although I have a few tips that I think could improve things..... (does anyone else think 4 quarters is excessive?? And can we talk about the shape of the ball. I mean seriously.....)
Anyway...
Happy Almost Dating Anniversary to my overly practical husband who thinks romance was created by hallmark.
Love, Your hopelessly romantic and occasionally emotional and hormonal pregnant wife.
