Introducing.......

After going to the hospital on 12.29.10 at 9:30 pm thinking we would be sent back home.....

And then pushing Phil around in a wheelchair for an hour to see if I was really in labor....which was a first time sight for the Good Sam nurses.....

Luke Junius Thompson was born at 4am exactly on 12.30.10......

weighing 6lbs 3 oz

looking identical to Sam at the same age (Blog on that to come later)

I laugh out loud every time Phil interjects with a "careful"....all those present for the assembly really were slightly traumatized. Its amazing we let him play with this table at all....

Target got us again

It is impossible to go into Target and leave with ONLY what you intended to buy. IMPOSSIBLE.

So, we went in for Snow Boots.....

And came out with a pair of rain boots....

That, upon being removed from his feet cause a huge temper tantrum. As such, after a diaper change I wasn't even able to get his pants back on.....

not that I tried very hard because I think he looks pretty darn cute like this....

Phils fashion ephiphany

Today I dressed Sam in a pair of jeans that have a faded look. Phil gets home from work, starts playing with Sam and notices the patch on the back of them says 1989.

Phil: "These jeans say 1989. Is that because they are supposed to be retro?"

Sara: "Yeah"

Phil: (with a shocked inflection) "I have jeans from 1989 that I still wear!!" Pausing for a moment and suddenly proud.... "That was a good year"

Aw Phil, my fashion forward husband.

Pondering some of life's greatest mysteries

Let it snow.....

Our first "big" snow fall! Daddy and Sam wasted no time getting out in the fun to play....a bit of sledding in the back yard (Phil pulling Sam around in the toboggan), snow balls, etc.... OH AND matching IU hats! All went well until Lainey stole Sam's glove and they had to come inside prematurely.

Mom didn't join in on the fun. I prefer the beach.

First Snow day of winter

recall - Phil has advised me that they went "sledding like men" and he wasn't just pulling Sam around.

Earlier that day we took Sam to the princess themed birthday party of a friend of ours. He was the only boy there. He came home and started doing this, which amazingly we were able to catch on camera!

I'm not sure if he is practicing for the chicks at the party next year or if he just saw one to many tiaras.....

Guess who doesn't like Santa.....

Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time....

I dreamed of Sam running down the steps to the Christmas Tree and stockings to find out what Santa left.

But this year as I walked into the entry-way and found that he had pulled down the advent calender that's a family heirloom and older than I am......I realized that dream may have to wait another year ...or 10. Oh well...he hasn't figured out how to go down the steps properly yet anyway......



I'm suddenly feeling very good about our decision not to put a tree up this year for fear that he would pull it down on himself.

I wonder if Santa considers this behavior naughty or nice?????

Thanksgiving

Well I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures on Thanksgiving but with a house full of guests...24 to be exact I guess my mind was elsewhere.....

This year everyone came to us because with Baby T.'s arrival rapidly approaching I wasn't able to travel.... We are so thankful everyone was flexible enough to come to our house so we all could be together, which is what the holidays are all about!!!

So, with 3 Turkeys (Over 55lbs of meat total), countless sides , ENDLESS dessert options and grandparents slaving away in the kitchen helping out......we let the eating begin.....
