This week

This week was full of scooter riding....

Train playing.....

And movie nights...

Bear had Rugby on Thursday and he was only one who had to stop mid class for a snack...

The boys have been pretty good all week with brief moments of terribly poor behavior.... mostly from Bear around 3 am to 5 am.

We wrapped up the school week with the Mid Autumn festival parade at Sam's school & both boys got dressed for the occasion...

It was the cutest thing ever....

Daddy, Grandma & Pada arrive tomorrow night & we can't wait to see them!!!

Rain rain go away

Phil was gone and I desperately needed a good night of sleep so I kept the kids running, climbing & playing from about 2 pm until bed time.

Bear got in on a pick up game of soccer with the locals...

& we met up with some friends...

And it worked. They slept great!
( I know I have a 3year old and an 21 month old and sleep should be a given...but not in our family.)

Today it was rainy and gross, so for the 20 minutes we had a break in the weather, I got the buns moving....

Yep- we're a 2 scooter family now.

Please ignore the slick surface & lack of helmets.

The rain started again so it was inside bubble blowing...

and bubble eating....

Now we're settling in for pizza & a movie...
and maybe Benadryl

We're hoping for sunshine tomorrow....

Missing Parents

Daddy left today for a week long trip.
This is his longest trip since being in HK, and I think Luke speaks for all of us on how we feel about it....

The boys have gotten to be much better buddies lately.
They love playing together....

Before Daddy left for his trip we had a big weekend planned.
Saturday was Ocean Park...
But thanks to an EPIC toddler temper tantrum we didn't go.
So Luke & Daddy went on an adventure together & I stayed home with Sam and watched E News while he was in his room screaming.

Sunday, we went to the beach.....
and despite some potential danger.......

We had a great time....

Sam & Luke learned how to skip (read sink) rocks

Lately I have received a few comments as to the whereabouts of Phil & myself and if we are in fact alive and well as neither of us have been on the blog for a while...

So here's photographic evidence ...

Daddy making a pool at the beach.....

And showing the boys how a real man skips (read sinks) rocks.....

And I was there too!!!!

We ended our day with dinner at this great new pizza place with smoothie king-esq smoothies!
Just before dinner Sam said: "Mom can I have a snack"
I said "no Sam, it's almost dinner."
To which he replied...
"That's ok, I'll eat my snack fast"

I'm not sure if he was missing my point or if I was missing his...

The latest...

Sam has developed a taste for eye wear lately.
In addition to his sunglasses he also likes to wear these everywhere but in the water.
Of course.

Monday Sam and Luke enjoyed a nice afternoon on the playground. While taking this photo I was also preparing myself for a trip to the ER.
We were literally the only ones on the playground, which I later learned was because the pollution levels are so high here lately they are encouraging people to stay inside.
Note to self - Check Pollution level before leaving house.

Tuesday it was back to tennis!!!

First conditioning....

Then playing...

Here's Sam and his buddy admiring a Ferrari....
(Shoes look familiar Victor????)

And we had some good friends over for an afternoon of playing.....
Manon & Luke

Manon, Luke & Sam in their matching shirts....
which translate from Japanese to English as "Naughty but cute"
Couldn't be more fitting.

Since we arrived in Hong Kong on August 14th, cumulatively we have had 5 nights and 6 days in the hospital and 14 trips to the doctor.
Our latest 2 being today when Luke was diagnosed with his first ear infection & Phil's going through another bout of atypical pneumonia.

Ugh.

On a happier note -
Happy Birthday to Aunt Anne!
We love you & Miss you!!!

A Shout out

A shout out....

My conversation with Sam while driving him to school:

Sam: Mom, Victor is my best buddy.
Me: He is? That's great!
Sam: You know who doesn't like Victor?
Me: Who doesn't like Victor?
Sam: Nobody cause everybody likes Victor but he's my best buddy. He's my cousin too.
Me: That's right Sam. I'm glad you and Victor are good buddies.
Sam: Me too. He doesn't push and we share grandma.

Thanks for being such a good buddy Vic!

End of week activities...

This Thursday Luke had Rugby again.
We moved him to a class for younger kids.
Prior to leaving we loaded up on Vitamin C

Then got ready to rumble.....

Later that day we hit up Ocean Park!
Bad picture but Sam had the BIGGEST smile while watching this Asian clown performance.....

And he actually insisted on having his picture taken with the dolphin, despite how the picture looks...

Luke broke a display of alligator eggs...

And insisted on carrying two trucks around....
(Miraculously both made it back home)

And Sam has been begging for a lunchbox so I broke down and got him one and he's obsessed.
Here he is eating dinner at the table last night out of his lunchbox....

And 3 videos for good measure....
Here's Sam racing around scooter park....

And Luke reminding us why we don't spend money on nice furniture....
